Shaolin

Recommended Videos

Kung Jin is a master of several diverse fighting styles. His first variation, Shaolin, provides him with the use of a chakram that he can use as a standard or low ranged attack, allowing Kung Jin to break down even the most dedicated of blockers. Shaolin is the most straight forward variation of Kung Jin, so keep that in mind. Unlike the others, this one offers no special enhancements, not that Kung Jin needs them or anything.

Air Dive Kick: (Air), Down, Circle

Straight Arrow: Down, Forward, Triangle

Lunge Kick: Back, Forward, X

Up Kick: Down, Back, X

Chakram: Back, Forward, Square

Low Chakram: Down, Back, Square

Ancestral

Kung Jin’s Ancestral variation swaps out his chakram for some more arrow types, allowing for some varied effects. Kung Jin is already a powerful, versatile fighter with a great range, even with his melee attacks. But, the inclusion of certain special effects such as Fire, and Stunning, help to really add some potency to combos, or even create an opening for one. Ancestral is perfect for those who appreciate Kung Jin’s range, but also want to control everything that happens in the arena.

Air Dive Kick: (Air), Down, Circle

Straight Arrow: Down, Forward, Triangle

Lunge Kick: Back, Forward, X

Fire Quiver: Down, Down, Square

Stun Quiver: Down, Back, Square

Vampiric Quiver: Down, Forward, Square

Bojutsu

Kung Jin’s final variation puts aside the special arrows and chakram for some powerful staff attacks. Bojutsu reduces Kung Jin’s range of effect a bit, but that doesn’t mean players will have to put themselves in danger. Kung Jin’s staff has an incredible reach that allows for some vicious attacks at mid range, well out of the reach of most kombatant’s physical attacks.

Air Dive Kick: (Air), Down, Circle

Straight Arrow: Down, Forward, Triangle

Lunge Kick: Back, Forward, X

Bo Flame: Down, Back, Square

Bo Swing: Down, Back, X

X-Ray and Finishers

Fatalities:

  1. (Close-range) Down, Forward, Down, Back, Triangle
  2. (Mid-range) Forward, Back, Down, Down, Square

Brutalities:

  1. Down, Forward + Triangle

X-Ray (L2+R2 with full meter)

Kung Jin’s X-Ray move all starts with an overhead attack, making it a little more difficult to block than most. What proceeds afterwards is Kung Jin systematically breaking down his opponent by smashing their skull, shooting out their eyes, then demolishing their ribs, spine, and organs. It’s one of the more vicious X-Rays in the game, and one of the easiest to pull off as well.
