Perhaps the only major national awards ceremony to acknowledge video games as a form of art worth awarding statues to, the BAFTA, or British Academy of Film and Television Arts, has announced its video game nominations for 2013. And, surprising absolutely nobody, The Last of Us leads the pack with a whopping ten nominations.
The Last of Us scored nominations in practically every single major category; Artistic Achievement, Story, Best Game, Best Design, and a double nomination in Performers for Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson.
Following The Last of Us is Grand Theft Auto V with nine nominations, and then Tearaway with eight. A big surprise is a damn near shutout in every major category for BioShock Infinite, which only racked up four nominations (somehow not including a nomination for Best Story). But that works out better for Galactic Cafe, with a big grab for their The Stanley Parable, which racked up four nominations, including a well deserved nod in Performer for Kevan Brighting as  the famous Narrator.
Other notables include four nominations each for Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag and Super Mario 3D World, and three nominations for Tomb Raider and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons.
The BAFTAs will take place on Wednesday, March 12.
