During an interview with IGN, Kiefer Sutherland let the news slip out that he recently finished working on an upcoming Mortal Kombat game.

When speaking about his role as Big Boss in Metal Gear Solid 5, he said “I did Mortal Kombat, and that’s such a huge game, but it’s so not like [MGS5].”

No details as to what character he’ll play, and your guess is as good as mine. There are plenty of gravel-filled throats in the MK universe, but I’m going to put my money on Raiden. Mostly because that name has a spelling (not pronunciation) overlap with a certain Metal Gear Solid character. He also mentioned that the work was quicker for Mortal Kombat, which makes sense, given the amount of dialogue compared to MGS.

This is the first we’ve heard of a new Mortal Kombat game, so we’ll keep you posted as any more details are released!
