Call of Duty: Black Ops III Announced Alongside New Teaser Trailer

Black Ops III is officially official.
This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

It’s official, Call of Duty: Black Ops III is a thing that will exist later this year. Although many people kind of knew this already based on that stealthy easter egg like update to Black Ops II a couple of days ago, we can officially take our speculation caps off since it’s now confirmed. The above trailer is pretty light on information. The only thing we can garner from it is that a world reveal will occur on Apr. 26.

Luckily, a short description was discovered on the official website by charlieintel.com:

Call of Duty®: Black Ops 3 is the first title for next-gen hardware in the critically acclaimed Black Ops series. Developed by Treyarch, the award-winning creator of the two most played games in Call of Duty® history. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 deploys players into a dark, twisted future where a new breed of Black Ops soldiers emerges and the lines are blurred between our own humanity and the technology we created to stay ahead, in a world where cutting-edge military robotics define warfare. With three unique game modes: Campaign, Multiplayer, and Zombies, it providing fans with the deepest and most ambitious Call of Duty ever.

That sounds awfully similar to Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, which may be a good or a bad thing depending on how much you enjoyed it. Treyarch was responsible for the other two Black Ops games and Call of Duty: World at War. Before Sledgehammer Games changed the setting up with Advanced Warfare last year, the mixing up of elements was usually Treyarch’s m.o.

Everyone knew we were getting a new Call of Duty this year, and well, here it is. I personally was pulling for a return to form via a World of War II but I’ll settle for Black Ops III. What do you all think? Let us know in the comments!
