The creations tools available in The Sims 3 have led to some pretty cool custom worlds players have made. There are custom worlds based on real-world locations as well as some that are entirely unique. Here are 10 of our favorite custom worlds in The Sims 3 that everyone should check out and download.
Vice City
We all know that flights can be very expensive if you’re a fan of traveling and exploring what the world has to offer, but there is one way to go to one of the most interesting cities in the world and that is by way of downloading this Vice City-themed world in The Sims 3.
You can take a stroll on South Beach, go jet skiing, layout and tan on the beach, or just take the time to explore this version of Miami that was made by Fresh Prince Creations. If you want to download this Sims 3 world, you can go right here to do just that.
Just so you know, this version of Vice City has yet to be completed so there won’t be any other Sims characters walking around, but you can still appreciate the love and attention to detail that went into this creation. And plus, you won’t have to deal with any annoying tourists bombarding the beach.
New York City
Ahh, New York City, the place where people go to live out their dreams; the place that lets you be whoever you want to be. You can download this Sims 3 New York City-themed world from TheSimsCatalog that was created by a user named Daniel.
His faithful recreation of the most famous and iconic city in the United States, and probably the entire world, looks fantastic and if your Sim is getting bored of the everyday life back home, why not take a much-needed trip to NYC.
You can download this world right here, but just make sure you don’t get mugged out there in those streets –tourists tend to be prone to robberies.
Candyfornia
This colorful world created by Cink Sims definitely gives us Katy Perry vibes as every inch of this vibrant creation screams candy, rainbows, and unicorns.
Candyfornia is the name of the world and gives us a different look at this altered version of California. If you would like to check this one out, you can download this Sims 3 world right here.
Candyfornia’s use of purple and pink colors really makes it stand out next to the other user-created worlds out there and from just looking at these pictures, I’m suddenly very hungry for some sweets.
Dubai
The modern and lush city of Dubai is yours to play around in with this Sims 3 custom world designed by Nilxis. You can explore this beautiful replica of one of the prettiest cities in the world and check out all of the different areas that were built from the ground-up.
Just to give you guys a heads up though; this created world is only available in Spanish so if you don’t understand the language, you might have trouble figuring everything out, but you can still have fun and marvel at this wonderfully designed destination.

Fairhaven City
Fairhaven City is the place to be if you’re looking for that perfect California-esque city with tons to do and different neighborhoods to explore. From looking at all of the images and videos of players jumping into Fairhaven for the first time, it seems to be the utopia for any Sims 3 player out there.
This custom world so much to offer Sims 3 players, but keep in mind that you might need a powerful PC if you plan on downloading this one, as the world might lag on you if not due to the amount of custom content available here.

Cronor
The futuristic yet drab locale of Cronor may seem a bit dreary from first looks, but Cronor is named “The Kingdom of Science” thanks to this custom worlds breakthrough with technology. You won’t have forests and beaches here in Cronor like most other worlds out there, but there’s still plenty to do here.

Barcelona
Nilxis took over two years to create a custom world in Sims 3 based around the soccer capital of the world, Barcelona. The city calls to you, like a noise you can’t ignore. Explore the bustling metropolitan city on the Meditteranean shores and see what all the hubbub is about.
You can go hang out a club with some friends to see the nightlife that the city has to offer, admire the interesting architecture, or maybe see a fashion show –Barcelona is one city that cannot be missed. If you want to try this out, you can download it right here.
Simmington
The story behind this custom world in The Sims 3 is sort of dark, but essentially it was a last-ditch effort for the citizens of Simplanet. After most of the world became uninhabitable, this perfect miniature island was artificially created for people who wanted a safe place to live.
Even though the island of Simmington is tiny, the people have everything they could ever need here –there’s a movie theatre, a gym, and restaurants to shop at.
Unfortunately, there are still some criminals that found their way into this island, but don’t let that stop you from enjoying your time on this miniature custom world. You can check out Simmington and download it right here.
Stranda
Where to begin? This Sims 3 custom world is huge and has a main focus on wildlife and nature. There’s a huge mountain by the water that has walkable routes for you check out if you need a break from the bustling city. You can go swimming, admire the beautiful waterfalls, and just live out your best life.
If you’re a fan of modern and/or traditional Scandinavian and Norwegian architecture, you’ll definitely appreciate the attention that went into this amazing creation.
