EA’s official Star Wars Twitter account officially confirmed that all future downloadable content for Star Wars Battlefront will strictly stay in the Galactic Civil War timeline.
When asked if Star Wars Battlefront would include any Force Awakens content by Twitter user ninjachris404, EAStarWars had this to say:
@ninjachris404 Our team is focusing on the original trilogy for this release of Star Wars Battlefront.

With this news, that not only means no Force Awakens content but also no prequel trilogy content as well. This still opens up the possibility of vehicles, and perhaps planets that were also in the original trilogy.
Earlier in December, DICE released the Battle of Jakku content. Which was one of the main planets found in Star Wars: Force Awakens. This free DLC included two maps, and the brand new Turning Point game mode as well.
