Its not long to wait now for FNAF fans before the sixth title (and second spin off) in the series, as the release of Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location draws ever closer.
With any sequel, there is always the fear that a game may not live up to its predecessor. This is no more true for Sister Location, following the negative feedback on the last spin-off, the RPG Five Nights at Freddy’s World. This was highlighted in a steam forum post by StarlightScrubLord, with the fear that Sister Location could suffer the same fate. Five Nights at Freddy’s World was subject to a disappointing response from fans following high amounts of fixes and revisions needing to be made after the game’s release.
Developer Scott Cawthon replied to the post himself, admitting that the release is taking a risk, but was optimistic about the response the game will get.
“This is just the nature of adding something new to any series, and a risk that every developer takes.” Cawthon said. “I have no idea what the response will be. Everyone might love it or everyone might hate it. Obviously I hope that the response will be positive! Only time will tell!”
Five Nights at Freddy’s: Sister Location is set to release on Oct 7.
