Almost exactly 25 hours ago, Mikage launched a crowdfunding campaign for its upcoming game Criminal Girls X. In just a day, the goal has been reached.
While the game is coming for PC, iOS, and Android as a free-to-play title, the crowdfunding campaign on the Japanese platform Campfire has the purpose to create an “all-in-one” version that lets players pay upfront for the whole thing.
It was described as an attempt to provide a “console-like” experience that players will be able to enjoy forever, even after the service for the free-to-play version have long shut down.
Apparently, fans really liked the idea, and the six million yen ( just short of $58,000) goal has been reached effortlessly. Now there are 65 days left to keep funding the game beyond its goal showing once more that this kind of initiative can be successful and that the Criminal Girls IP is still in demand among the fans.
Mikage also confirmed on Twitter that the game will release in English, with a target for the disclosure of more information about it set for September.
If you’re unfamiliar with the series, it’s known for its two previous JRPGs releases by Nippon Ichi Software, Criminal Girls on PSP and Criminal Girls 2: Party Favors on PS Vita. Both made it to the west but had to be censored by NIS America due to content that wasn’t considered exactly acceptable by the rating boards

The free-to-play version is expected to release in February 2020, while the full version should come in May 2020, for iOS, Android, And PC.
