Today Yostar revealed the next major event for its popular shipgirl-focused mobile game Azur Lane during a livestream from Japan.
The event has not yet been confirmed for the English servers, so keep that in mind, even if Yostar has been quite good at launching almost all major events at the same time.
It’ll start on April 23 and end on May 7 and it’ll bring back the Sakura Empire-focused event “Crimson Echoes” from January 2019, but it won’t be entirely the same.
We’ll see the return of Amagi, Kaga’s battleship version (The real Kaga was initially planned as the second Tosa-class battleship), Makinami, Ashigara, Naka, and Hatakaze, but there is more.
The event will also include the SSR battleship Tosa, the SR Destroyer Maganami, and the SR Destroyer Hanazuki.
On top of that, we’re getting new skins for Makinami, Hanazuki, Naka, Ashigara, Maganami, and Hiei, on top of a retrofit for Isuzu.
We also learn that Zeppy, Hiei-Chan, and Akagi-chan will be added to the permanent construction pool.
Last, but not least, the third collaboration with World of Warships has been announced. While no details have been provided, the event will happen in both games. More news about this will come at a later date.
You can see all the shipgirls and skins below.
If you’re unfamiliar with Azur Lane, it’s is a free-to-play mobile horizontal scrolling shooter/RPG hybrid currently available for iOS and Android.
If you’d like to learn more about it, you can read our recent interview with Yostar’s director of operations.
If your interest leans more towards console and PC games, Azur Lane: Crosswave has recently been released for PS4 and PC. You should definitely read the interview we pubished a few weeks ago ago, in which Compile Heart President Norihisa Kochiwa talks in depth about the project, and check out our full review.
If you’re curious about the franchise’s popularity in Japan, you can check out my report about the recent anniversary event that pretty much literally invaded Akihabara.
