How to Get a Skeleton Horse in Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Recommended Videos

Galloping around the lush fields of Hyrule on horseback in Breath of the Wild is easily one of the fastest ways to get around the world (outside of fast traveling, of course). However, sometimes Epona or any other normal horse just doesn’t cut it. Well, fortunately for you, there’s a way you can get a skeleton horse in Breath of the Wild, and here’s what you need to know to get it.

The skeleton horse, also known as a Stalhorse, can be found nearby the skeleton bokoblins that inhabit certain areas of Hyrule. As such, you’ll want to head to areas like the Akkala Highlands around nighttime and wait for the undead mob to spawn. Once they do, eliminate all of the bokoblin and keep the skeleton horse that you want to keep alive.

Now all you need to do is jump on the back of the skeleton horse and tame it as you would any other horse in Breath of the Wild. It’s worth noting, however, that the skeleton horse isn’t exactly the best choice. Their stats aren’t great and you won’t be able to register it at any of the stables in the game. So while they may look cool, they’re far from the most practical means of transport in Breath of the Wild.
