How to Heal in Yooka-Laylee

Recommended Videos

While the enemies in Yooka-Laylee aren’t the most difficult of creatures to take care of, you’ll still likely take damage one way or another on your adventure. As such, there’s a good chance you’ll want to know how to heal so you can continue on with your adventure and defeat Capital B.

It’s actually incredibly easy to heal in Yooka-Laylee, and it all revolves around those pink butterflies fluttering around in each of the game’s Grand Tomes. While running into these will replenish your stamina gauge, you’ll want to use eat them to heal Yooka and Laylee.

To do this, you’ll need to first learn the Slurp Shot ability from Trowzer the snake. You’ll be able to buy this off him for 30 Quills in Tribalstack Tropics or any subsequent world. Once you’ve unlocked the Slurp Shot ability, all you need to do is stand close and face a butterfly and press the B button (Circle on PS4) to catch it with Yooka’s tongue.

Every butterfly you eat will restore one butterfly in your health bar. Fortunately, you’ll normally find butterflies in groups, so you’ll be able to restore most, if not all of your health bar fairly easily.
