Xenoblade Chronicles: How to Get the Mobile Furnace

Developed by Monolith Soft, Xenoblade Chronicles was originally released for the Wii back in 2010, and now it’s finally making its way to the Nintendo Switch with the release of the Definitive Edition. This port comes with upgraded graphics and visuals, an arranged soundtrack, and new story content. Most of the gameplay systems remain the same, though, so here’s how to get the Mobile Furnace in Xenoblade Chronicles.

Getting the Mobile Furnace in Xenoblade Chronicles

The Mobile Furnace is an item that allows you to craft Ether Gems anywhere in the world, without having to go back to the main furnace in Colony 9. This is a huge time-saver, and makes it really convenient for players to craft Gems on the go and equip them immediately.

Before you can get it, though, you’ll need to finish a few quests. First, accept the side quest from the Gem Man in Colony 9 and he’ll teach you how to use the furnace. Later on, he’ll ask you to bring him a reactor from Colony 6, and this is where things get a little tedious.

Essentially, once you recruit Sharla and rescue Juju, you’ll have the option to visit Colony 6 and help them rebuild. You need to get every sector in Colony 6 up to level one by collecting and donating materials, and you’ll be able to obtain the reactor that way.

Bring the reactor back to the Gem Man in Colony 9 and he’ll hand over the Mobile Furnace. From this point on, you can access the Mobile Furnace from the main menu with the X button and craft whatever Gems you need from there, making the process a lot more convenient than it was in the past.

That’s all you need to know about how to get the Mobile Furnace in Xenoblade Chronicles. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
