Who Died in White Lotus Season 1?

On Oct. 30, The White Lotus came back for its second season on HBO with new characters (except for the sadly hilarious Jennifer Coolidge’s character) and a new location where the privileged, entitled tourists can behave their worst. Both seasons started with unidentified dead bodies. If you’re wondering who died during White Lotus Season 1, here’s your answer.

Who Was Killed in White Lotus Season 1?

Armond (Murray Bartlett), the resort manager, is the one who dies, as he’s stabbed with a knife by Shane (Jake Lacy). It’s an accident, though. As he’s high on drugs, Armond breaks into Shane’s room to defecate in his suitcase as revenge. Shane enters the room and feels there’s an intruder there. He picks up a knife and, as both he and the resort manager round the same corner of the suite, the knife goes into Armond’s body.

Armond breaks into the room as revenge because Shane has been antagonistic with him from the start, trying to get a better suite. Once Shane gets Armond fired, there’s no going back. Although at the show’s start Armond looks like the perfect, calm, helpful resort manager, it’s discovered he’s been hanging by a thread as he brakes his sobriety in a night full of alcohol and drugs. Once Armond’s fired, he has nothing else to lose, so he decides to “leave a souvenir” in Shane’s suitcase.
