How to Unlock More Resources at Shops in Valkyria Revolution

Unlike previous games in the series, Valkyria Revolution lets you wander around the city of Elsinore, talking to its citizens and stopping in at the local shops. Various shops around the city will let you pick up various resources like textiles, leathers, and metals that you can use to craft new gear for your party. There’ll only be a small selection available at first, but as you make your way through the game, more and more resources will become available. There is a way to maximize the amount of items at each shop, however, and it has to do with the world map.

As the war between Jutland and the Empire advances in Valkyria Revolution, Jutland will come to control more and more territory on the map. As the country expands its territory, more resources will become available. Naturally, progressing the story will help you put more items in the shops, but Jutland will also lose territory if you don’t take action in certain optional battles. When you see markers appear on the map with a red and blue arrow, that means it’s an important battle for territory. If you neglect to take part in these battles, it’s possible that Jutland will lose territory, meaning less items will be available for purchase. Keep on top of these battles and you’ll be able to continue upgrading your gear.
