Tribes of Midgard: How to Get & Use Golden Egg Rune

Tribes of Midgard is a brand new co-op multiplayer action game from Norsfell and Gearbox Publishing. The game allows you to team up with up to nine other players as you explore an open-world together, and gather resources to upgrade your equipment and fortify your village defenses against the Helthings that invade every night. Here’s how to get and use the Golden Egg Rune in Tribes of Midgard.

Getting the Golden Egg Rune in Tribes of Midgard

First off, the Golden Egg is just one of many potential Runes you can obtain in Tribes of Midgard. It’s obtained the same way as any other Rune in the game, which means that it’s completely random.

Runes can be obtained simply by opening chests, killing enemies, or consuming Golden Horns at the altar in the village, though we don’t recommend using your Horns this way unless you have a surplus of those. The best advice we can give you is to just keep playing through the game and going through runs until you eventually get it, as there’s no way to increase the drop chance of the Golden Egg Rune specifically.

How to Use Golden Egg

Even when you do get the Rune, there doesn’t seem to be much you can do with it, at least at the time of writing.

There is speculation that having the Golden Egg Rune will increase the chances of the Rooster of Ragnarok appearing on the map.

When the Rooster appears, you can head to its location on the map and interact with it to get an Event Fragment, and that’s about it.

However, the Roosters of Ragnarok have appeared in our games even without the Rune, so you don’t even require it in order to get the event to trigger.

The Rune itself can also be sold to NPCs for 200 Souls, which is a fair bit especially early on in the game. But other than that, there doesn’t seem to be an actual use for it. We’ll update this article with the relevant information if there’s more to be said about the Rune.

That’s all you need to know about how to get and use the Golden Egg Rune in Tribes of Midgard. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
