How to Increase Character Satisfaction in Total War Three Kingdoms

All members of your faction have a character satisfaction level that can be viewed at any time, and keeping this satisfaction level raised will prevent them from engaging in any nefarious activities.

To view satisfaction, open the character list, which can be done by hitting F2. This will give you a breakdown of various stats and what is impacting their score.

The long and the short of increasing satisfaction is to promote your characters regularly, which is something that can be done from the Court section of the screen, or from a given character’s profile.

Each character will have a face icon beside their name that shows how satisfied they are. By scrolling over the face icon with your mouse, you can see a detailed breakdown of their satisfaction levels.

You can also give a character a promotion within court, especially if that’s an agenda they’ve expressed interest in. Some characters desire more authority and power, and rewarding them with titles means won’t be tempted to seek advancement elsewhere.

Note that promotions mean increasing salaries, which you’ll need to be mindful of if you’re budgeting resources. It’s typically a case of a weighing up whether the additional salary cost is mitigated by various buffs you might receive by promoting a character.

Furthermore, it’s important not to rest on your laurels if and when you have invited a character into your court. A dissatisfied member of your court could have far-reaching consequences far worse. This includes making sure you settle any disputes between court members or removing them from each other’s company if necessary.
