The World Ends With You Final Remix is a Switch port of the DS game that originally released back in 2007. In this version, the combat system has been streamlined to fit the Switch’s single screen setup. The graphics have also been redone, and players will enjoy a remastered version of the soundtrack. The game looks and sounds better than ever. In addition to that, there’s a new story chapter titled “A New Day” included here. Here’s what you need to know about how to start A New Day in The World Ends With You Final Remix.

A New Day is a brand new story chapter that serves as an extension to the original Reapers’ Game in the main campaign of The World Ends With You. In it, we’re introduced to a new female Reaper named Coco. Neku will be partnered with Beat during this chapter, and your job is to escape Shibuya within 24 hours. If not, the Players will face erasure.

In order to start A New Day, you’ll first need to complete the main campaign. After that, simply load your game and choose the Chapter Select option. At the end of the list, you’ll find a new locked chapter you can’t access just yet. Here’s what you need to do to access it.

Conditions for Unlocking A New Day in The World Ends With You Final Remix

You’ll need to defeat three purple Reapers on day 7 of each gameplay week.

  • Week 1 Day 7: Talk to the purple Reaper at Hachiko Statue to start the fight.
  • Week 2 Day 7: Talk to the purple Reaper at Shibukyu Main Store to start the fight.
  • Week 3 Day 7: Talk to the purple Reaper at Udagawa Back Streets to start the fight.

These encounters all have modifiers attached to them, and they can be pretty tricky to clear during your first playthrough. We recommend doing these when you’ve beaten the main story, then use Chapter Select to go back to the relevant days to tackle the challenges.

Once you’ve cleared all three encounters in The World Ends With You Final Remix, you’ll unlock A New Day. Use the Chapter Select option to start the new scenario, and you’ll be all set.

A New Day also features a new Secret Report that you can collect. However, this requires you to obtain all the Secret Reports from the main story and Another Day. These are definitely worth collecting, as they provide more insight into the Reapers’ Game and how the underground world works as a whole.

A New Day can take you up to five hours to complete, as it features some very tough battles to get through. You should definitely try to get as many good Pins as you can before jumping into this.
