Super Mario Odyssey: How to Jump

How to Jump in Super Mario Odyssey

Recommended Videos

Super Mario Odyssey wouldn’t be a proper Super Mario title if the hero couldn’t jump. After all, Mario is the hero that most people think of when they think of platforming in video games. But of course, Mario doesn’t just leap regularly, he has tons of options, starting with the most basic of jumps.

The basic jump in Super Mario Odyssey is done by pressing B or A. That will have you leap directly up or in whatever direction you happen to be moving in. But, you can make it more fancy with some extra button presses. If you run, then crouch with ZL, then press B or A, you’ll do a long jump. See some walls and some higher platforms? Use Mario’s ability to wall jump in order to reach greater heights by pressing B or A to bounce and leap off of a wall. Want to know the best part about wall jumping? You can chain these jumps together in Super Mario Odyssey if you happen to be between two walls. Not too shabby, right?
