How to Use Your Flashlight in State of Decay 2

Recommended Videos

State of Decay 2 doesn’t mess around with the creepy moments. Especially when it gets dark out. In the night, you won’t see much. And even in the day, if you’re ransacking a location, odds are that it’s going to be dark, too. It’s the apocalypse so there are hardly any lights on. Here’s how to bring out your flashlight to see those zombies right in front of you.

To use your flashlight in State of Decay 2 – all characters automatically have one – you simply need to press in the left thumbstick. This button is called L3 within the gaming world. Doing this will shine a small light on whatever your character is facing. It won’t light up a whole plain, but it’s pretty good for the view right in front of you. And it shines in dark rooms. Get it? I’m great.

Anyway, this really is the only fix to the issues of not being able to see anything at night. You can install a generator in your base which – when turned on – will light up all the rooms, but out and about it’s pretty much the only solution. Save for increasing your game’s brightness through the options menu, of course!

That’s all there is to using your flashlight in State of Decay 2! If you need more help, leave us a comment down below and we’ll help you out! For more on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
