Here’s how to take out shield enemies in Spider-Man PS4.

You’re going to take out a lot of bad guys in Spider-Man PS4. From iconic villains all the way down the faceless grunts that are really just there to get beat up a bunch. There are some variants of the generic grunt-like enemies, however, and one of these variants is the shield enemies.

If you’ve come up against one or a few of these at once, you’ll already know that they require a little more finesse to take care of than the usual, non-shielded grunts.

First off, it’s worth pointing out that these special baddies, and all enemies in the game for that matter, will take more damage when they’re hit from behind. In the case of shield enemies, however, it’s essentially the best way you can take them out.

The best way is to get behind them and take them out is to first press Triangle to web sling towards your enemy. You’ll then want to press Square, before quickly tapping Circle.

Doing this will have Spidey quickly zip between the legs of the enemy, leaving you behind them with their back just waiting to take a bunch of hits. Lay down a bunch of hits with Square, and then rinse and repeat the process if they’re still standing.

Once you’ve upgraded Spidey’s skill under the Innovator tree to include the skill “Rifle, Shield, and Launcher Yank,” you’ll also then be able to hold Triangle to yank shields off enemies. An incredibly useful skill to have when enemy numbers start to ramp up in combat situations.

That’s all you need to know to take out shield enemies in Spider-Man PS4. For more tips, tricks, and information on the game, be sure to check out our comprehensive guide Spider-Man guide wiki.
