How To Distract Enemies – Sniper Elite 4

One of the key features that differentiates Sniper Elite 4 from previous entries in the franchise is it’s sprawling open maps. And alongside these large maps the game also boasts enemies in much greater numbers than ever before, with dozens of them present in a level at any one time. Combine this with a much smarter AI, and moving around undetected becomes much more of a hassle.

Sometimes it helps to distract enemies and sneak past them, or to divert their attention away from you so you can move in for a takedown. To do this, all you have to do is select the Rock from the upper right side of your weapon wheel, and throw it using the item use button (RB on Xbox One, R1 on PS4). Depending on the alertness level of the enemies you are trying to distract, they may either look towards the noise, or actually go there to investigate.

Another, slightly costly, method of quickly distracting large numbers of enemies is to use the Stick Grenades at your disposal. Simply toss one of these away from yourself, and the resulting explosion will cause enemies in a large radius to become distracted. After a few brief moments of panic they will eventually move towards the site of the explosion, providing you with plenty of time and room to sneak on by.
