Clearing land on the Sims Mobile comes from ranking up your lifestyle rank. The higher lifestyle rank you have, the more land you are able to clear for building and adding on to your plot of land. So if you’re someone looking for more freedom to decorate and build, then you are going to want to rank up lifestyle as much as you can. This will give you plenty of options going forward for your home and land.

Simply tap the plot of land you want to expand upon, and the game will prompt you to purchase the expansion with in-game currency. If your lifestyle rank is not high enough the game will give you the “Improve Lifestyle to Unlock” prompt and you will not be able to progress with the expansion. So just level up lifestyle, and you’ll be all set for everything you need to clear land in the Sims Mobile.
