How to do the Disney Princess Challenge

Recommended Videos

Once upon a time, a magical phenomenon swept over The Sims 4 community. Sims everywhere were being created with the sole purpose of reimagining some of Disney’s classic princesses. That’s right, one of the most popular Sims 4 challenges has people following storylines that are inspired by Disney icons. It has spread like wildfire throughout the community with many Sims 4 players sharing their Disney-inspired creations online. If you’re eager to join the movement and see if you can lead your Sims to their happily ever after (or at least as happy as the challenge will allow), just follow these challenge rules for each of your Sim generations.

Generation 1: Snow White

Your Disney Princess journey will start with Snow White. These will be rather humble beginnings that start when Snow White is a Teenager. Players will have the option of creating an evil stepmother to accompany their new Disney teen but it’s not considered a mandatory part of the challenge. It is, however, highly recommended. After all, Snow White’s wicked stepmother was a key part of her story and who can pass up the opportunity to make a Sim that looks like the Evil Queen?

The other requirements for your Snow White story are:

  • Ensuring your Snow White Sim is a female
  • Have her live with seven children who will represent the seven dwarfs from the series. You will also need to make sure each child has a bad trait that will represent which dwarf they are
  • Make sure all the dwarves have the same father
  • Each of the dwarves must complete their Aspiration or receive an A in school
  • The final requirement, and this one is pretty fun, you have to make sure Snow White never answers the door for strangers and she can’t talk to any elderly women (and we all know why)

Generation 2: Cinderella

Up next will be the classic beauty of the ball—Cinderella. Of course, you won’t be recreating her fantastic night dancing with the prince and gracefully tripping out of her glass slipper. Your Sim will be based on Cinderella’s early life instead. Despite having a full house of siblings, your Cinderella Sim was always the one stuck with the dirty work. Whether it was cleaning the house or cooking for everyone, the chores were always your job. Your Cinderella story begins when this princess becomes a Teenager.

The requirements for this story are:

  • Cinderella must have both the Neat and Foodie traits
  • This Sim must also clean the house every day and be responsible for cooking every meal in the house
  • Can’t have any more than three children
  • Cinderella also can’t get married until the mother dies although it’s not required that this death comes from natural causes. Nobody is forcing you to have that kind of patience but you just can’t use any cheats to kill Cinderella’s mother once you do get a little tired of waiting for her to kick the bucket. Hey, The Sims gets dark sometimes.

Generation 3: Tiana

Now it’s time for Princess Tiana to shine. Tiana’s story will be all about this Disney Princess’s desire to work hard and make a living that she can be proud of. Of course, like any true Disney story, there are obstacles in Tiana’s way. In this case, Tiana loses her father at a young age. This only fuels this Sim’s passion and determination to finally make the family name a respectable one. Once Tiana becomes a Young Adult, your story officially begins.

The requirements for this story are:

  • Tiana must have the Ambitious trait
  • Tiana’s father must pass away before she becomes an Adult
  • Must have the Food aspiration
  • In order to represent her love story with a human-turned-frog, she must marry a Sim that has some sort of green feature in their appearance. This can be green hair, green eyes or even green skin. If it’s green and they can’t take it off, it counts.

Generation 4: Aurora

Things take a pretty dramatic turn here. You go from the Disney Princess who is all about hard work to one who has lived a life of luxury and never had to lift a finger. Aurora’s mother did all the hard work so now she has everything she could possibly ask for. Well, almost. This Sim, like the others, is ready to finally find love but her overprotective father is standing in the way of that.

The requirements for this story are:

  • Aurora must have the Lazy trait
  • Aurora can’t have any more than three friends
  • Everything about this Sim’s relationship has to be sneaky and under wraps. You will have to meet your soulmate at night while your parents are sleeping. Once you find your dream Sim, it’ll be time for you to run off together and get married in secrecy.
  • Once you’re settled down with your new husband you may only have two children. The challenge prefers two twin girls but that isn’t a requirement here.

Generation 5: Anna

While most of these princesses have troubles with finding true love, this Sim struggles to understand her troubling relationship with her sister. While she used to spend a lot of time with her sibling as a young child, things have changed. Anna’s sister has locked her away but she has no idea why. This story kicks off while Anna is still a child.

Requirements for this story are:

  • You can’t have any contact with your sister until Anna reaches Young Adult
  • Fall in love with a Sim who is a criminal
  • This is where things can get tricky. You have to nearly be killed at the hands of your good-for-nothing lover
  • Now it’s time to patch that sibling relationship by becoming Best Friends with your sister
  • Once you have mended your relationship with your sister, you can now fall in love with a different Sim
  • Become married but you can only have one child

Generation 6: Rapunzel

Now enters Rapunzel. The Disney Princess who has an odd relationship with her mother. This Sim’s mother has some serious trust issues with the “outside world” and she never even learned much about her mother. For years, Rapunzel has been alone and kept hidden from the outside world but the desire for love won’t let you stay hidden away for long. This story begins when Rapunzel is a Teenager.

The requirements for this story are:

  • This Sim must have both the Loner and Art Lover traits
  • Must have level 8 painting before becoming a Young Adult
  • This Sim can’t leave the house unless it is to go to school
  • Being locked away leaves you without friends until you, somehow, finally fall in love and get married
  • Make sure you elope

Generation 7: Belle

This Sim is all about inner beauty despite the fact that they are quite the looker themselves. Your Belle Sim isn’t into looks but loves a good book and spends much of their time in the library. While other Sims in this challenge couldn’t seem to find love, this Sim has been turning suitors away left and right. This story begins when Belle becomes a Young Adult.

The requirements for this story are:

  • Belle must have the Bookworm trait
  • This Sim isn’t falling in love at first sight. Make sure you date a minimum of five Sims
  • Find an ugly Sim to fall in love with. You don’t care about looks anyway, remember?
  • Get married to the ugly sim and start a family. Once you do this, your ugly spouse should receive a makeover to become beautiful once again.

Generation 8: Mulan

This Sim is dealing with the crushing reality that simply being who they are might not be enough for their parents. Mulan has serious expectations weighing on her shoulders because her priorities have always just been different. Rather than focusing on marrying a Sim with status, like your parents want, you want to step out on your own and make your own path in life. Once Mulan is a Young Adult, this story begins.

The requirements for this story are:

  • This Sim must have the Active trait
  • This Sim has to become an Astronaut
  • Once you start your career path, find a co-worker to fall in love with
  • You’re a successful Astronaut and you found genuine love. It’s time to get married and start a family.

Generation 9: Jasmine

Many Sims would give up a lot to have Jasmine’s life, but this Disney Princess isn’t impressed by the riches. Despite growing up in the lap of luxury, this Sim wants something different—a simple life that isn’t complicated by wealth. Once Jasmine is a Teenager, your new story begins.

The requirements for this story are:

  • This Sim should have a best friend that will represent Raja, the only person Jasmine finds comfort in
  • Must stay in the house unless it’s time for school
  • As you probably guessed, you’ll need this Sim to fall in love with a poor Sim in the criminal career
  • Get married and have four children

Generation 10: Merida

The last generation of Sims was built on the premise that riches aren’t greater than love and happiness. This time around your Sim is based on a Disney Princess that didn’t always understand that concept. Your mother tossed money to the side for love and now you’re an independent Teenager who is seeking your own answers and perspective on life.

The requirements for this story are:

  • This Sim must have the Self Assured trait
  • All siblings and your mother must die in a tragic accident
  • This time around things are pretty vague. You just have to seek out a way to change the past but never quite accomplish that task.
  • A tragic life means you don’t believe in love but you do believe you are cursed. Because of this, you never get married and you never start a family.

That’s the end of the required generations for this challenge but if you’re looking for more Disney themed stories to create, you’re in luck. Playingwithmah came up with a few bonus generations to keep the challenge going.

Generation: Ariel

This story follows a Sim who has always loved the water and always had dreams of becoming a mermaid. Unfortunately, that dream never comes to fruition. That disappointment, however, never stops you from falling in love. Once Ariel is a Teenager your story begins.

The requirements for this story are:

  • You must give this Sim some sort of water related trait
  • This Sim must go swimming every day so you’ll need to give them a pool
  • Fall in love with a Sim that shares at least one similar trait as you
  • Get married and have kids

Generation: Pocahontas

This Sim’s story is all about falling in love with someone from a world very different from your own. The story will start when Pocahontas is a Teenager.

The requirements for this story are:

  • Fall in love with a Sim that is very different. Not just a little different either. We’re talking green or blue skin or something else that the general public would see as downright bizarre.
  • Get married and elope
  • Have kids

Generation: Elsa

This Sim values solitude and has always sought it out. Ever since some sort of accident occurred this Sim just never wanted to be around others. You can start this story once your Elsa Sim is a Teenager.

  • Sim must have the Loner trait
  • This Sim can’t talk to any of their siblings until they’re a Young Adult
  • Sim must be very different in some sort of way
  • Leave home and run away while still a teenager
  • You never get married but have one child
