Getting and Using a Chicken Coop in Sea of Thieves

Recommended Videos

Whenever you take on a voyage from the Merchant Alliance in Sea of Thieves, you’ll be tasked with procuring certain items and delivering them to a specific destination. One of the earlier voyages will require you to capture chickens while using a chicken coop.

Once you’ve accepted the voyage and started it, go to the Merchant NPC at any outpost and talk to them to get a chicken coop. Similar to treasure chests and other valuable items, when you’re holding the chicken coop, you can’t do anything else. Next, you’ll want to find some chickens to catch. The wildlife spawns in Sea of Thieves are completely random, so it might take you a while to find chickens. They will spawn on random islands, but they will never appear at outposts.

When you find an island with chickens on them, carry the chicken coop and chase after them. When you’re the near the animal, press the RT button to capture it and put it into the coop. You can then bring the coop back and turn it in with the Merchant NPC.
