This article is over 8 years old and may contain outdated information

Samurai Warriors 4 Empires lets you be in charge of a whole army with the role of daimyo. You’re to select a warlord, some retainers, and even have the option of making your warriors one of four possible guardians for your reign. These are the best of the best; they’re your right-hand people. They will definitely always have your back, and see a boost in troops by 1,000 each. But how do you get them to that badass point?

Well, if you want to select someone as one of your four guardians, they need to first be a retainer for the daimyo. And in order to have someone made into a retainer, you’ll need to work their relationship with the daimyo up. Make them fraternize frequently. Making them go into battle together also helps the relationship, and completing whatever missions pop up is a must. This will allow them to grow closer and eventually they will become a retainer for the kingdom. Through the power of friendship!

Once they are, it’s as simple as selecting them from the management menu to make them into a guardian. You can do this three more times, and you’ll be all set to get that trophy in Samurai Warriors 4 Empires!
