f the story of Arthur Morgan and exploring the Old West isn’t enough, you can jump online and create your own Posse to cause trouble with, or partake in a host of multiplayer modes, even a battle royale style mode called Make it Count.

Of course, if you want to once again leisurely explore the Old West you’ll need to know how to free roam in Red Dead Online.

Free roaming will let you run around the world of Red Dead Online at your own pace, seeking out Strangers to help which can, in turn, affect your honor and how things play out.

In order to Free Roam, you’ll first need to play through the sequence of tutorial missions in Red Dead Online.

After this, you’ll automatically be dropped into Free Roam to start with. However, at any time you can drop out of what you’re currently doing and go to free roam, in a few different areas.

To do this simply hit the Options button on Xbox, or the menu button on PS4, then navigate down to the “Online” option.

After that you can use the left analog stick to tab through the top line of tiles which are labeled Free Roam Lemoyne, Free Roam West Elizabeth, etc.

Essentially, choosing these options will let you Free Roam in the respective area that you’ve chosen. Keep in mind that this will remove you from whatever activity you’re currently engaging in, and transport you to the specified.

At this point, though, you’re free to go adventuring to your heart’s content.
