PUBG Mobile squeezes the battle royale gaming phenomenon onto mobile devices. While it’s largely the same experience as on PC, the mobile version of PUBG does have some subtle differences, mainly in the pace and increased focus on action that comes from some of the new design choices implemented. Player engagements are more common, and the game definitely favors a more close-ranged play style, given that it is a lot more difficult to pick off enemies from afar, due to the touch controls. This changes the way you’re going to want to approach the initial portion of each match, including where you choose to drop. With this in mind, we’ve gathered together the very best drop points for PUBG Mobile, ensuring you get off to a good start, better setting you up for that chicken dinner.
School
Best Starting Places to Drop in PUBG Mobile
PUBG Mobile, more so than its PC counterpart, encourages frequent, action-packed player engagements. It does this by including bots, a gunshot and footsteps indicator, and increasing the availability of loot in general. You can be a bit bolder in this version, especially at lower levels when you’re likely to encounter more bots than players, meaning you should focus on kills and getting the best loot early on. The School is one of the best areas for this, guaranteeing high quality loot and plenty of players to kill early on. It is a highly accessible area too, meaning you can race to the next position with ease after building out your inventory a bit.
Pochinki
Best Starting Places to Drop in PUBG Mobile
It’s a way better option to opt for close-range combat in PUBG Mobile, given how difficult it is to land shots at long-range because of the lower accuracy in using a touchscreen. Because of this, highly populated urban areas are a great way to go in terms of drop spots. Pochinki in particular ensures that you’ll have plenty of cover, and opportunities for kills early on, and is better suited to a more up close and personal loadout. You won’t need to be too focused on finding scopes, and can get by pretty easily using an SMG or even a pistol in a pinch. The footsteps indicator also makes it easier to identify which exact building an opponent is in, meaning you can rush them more successfully.
Underground Bunker
Best Starting Places to Drop in PUBG Mobile
One of the most overlooked areas on the map, the Underground Bunker offers some of the best loot in the game, while also allowing you to remain relatively hidden. There are multiple entrance points too, meaning you won’t get trapped in by enemies, and the rooms are next to each other making looting very quick indeed. It’s a great place to lay low while the herd is thinned slightly, allowing you to carefully plan out your approach to the center of the map. It’s true that there is a high likelihood of encountering another player in there, but go in armed with a shotgun and you’ll be absolutely fine.
Rozhok
Best Starting Places to Drop in PUBG Mobile
One of the things we’ve noticed about PUBG Mobile is just how valuable the lower graphical fidelity can be when trying to hide yourself. This especially true in water, with an underwater player being near-invisible to the eye. Rozhok is a great way to exploit this. You’ll first want to land somewhere around buildings situated near water. After getting some loot you can use it to gain the upper hand on other players. If you’re at lower levels, you’ll also notice that bots tend to gather in water, and will literally be floating there for you to kill and steal their loot. Finding a boat in this way is also a great tactic, as it is very unlikely that someone will be able to pick you off when you’re traveling at speed. The gunshot indicator on the map means that players are less likely to bother taking you out from afar, especially if it means they’ll have to swim out to grab your loot. Use this to your advantage and become one with the water.
Sosnovka Military Base
Best Starting Places to Drop in PUBG Mobile
In our experience, PUBG Mobile is a much more casual experience for more casual players. It is many’s first experience with the game, meaning they are less likely to know about the great spots hidden around the map. It’s worth dropping at the military base then, especially if it is a little out of the flight plan, as you are less likely to encounter players. You’ll have a great chance to find amazing loot here too, and the area is fairly open so you’ll definitely see an ambush coming from far away. It’s a great place to arm yourself and is fairly accessible, meaning you can get out in a pinch. Use the large amount of cover to your advantage and you’ll be giving yourself a seriously epic start.
