Pokemon Sword & Shield: How to Get Impidimp & Evolve Into Grimmsnarl

There are loads of different Pokemon options in Sword & Shield so you might want to experiment with a few different ones before you decide on your end-game team. One of the weirdest looking creatures is Impidimp. So that you can give it a try in battle, here’s everything you need to know about how to get Impidimp and evolve into Grimmsnarl in Pokemon Sword & Shield.

Impidimp is a small Fairy/Dark Type Pokemon that was introduced to the series in Generation VIII, so Sword & Shield is its first game.

How to Get Impidimp in Pokemon Sword & Shield

Thankfully, it is quite easy to find. Below are the places on the Galar region map in which you can find it. Just do note that it’s a random spawn in tall grass, meaning you won’t see it wandering around on the surface:

  • Motostoke Outskirts – All Weather
  • Giant Mirror – Heavy Fog
  • Hammerlocke Hills – Heavy Fog
  • Stony Wilderness – All Weather

We found it easiest to find Impidimp in the Stony Wilderness section of the Wild Area. You can see exactly where it is in the screenshot below.

Just wander around in the tall grass, avoiding the Pokemon you can actually see. When a rogue exclamation mark appears in the grass, go over to it and you should start a Pokemon encounter. Hopefully it’ll be what you’re after. Just catch it once you’ve found it.

How to Evolve Impidimp Into Grimmsnarl

Impidimp is the first stage of an evolution chain, with Grimmsnarl being the third and last.

The first evolution you’ll make is at level 32, when Impidimp will become Morgrem. Just level the starting Pokemon up while in battle and stage one will be done.

Then, to evolve Morgrem into Grimmsnarl, you need to level the Pokemon up to level 42. Once you hit that in battle, the evolution will happen.
