Will Pokemon Quest Get Gen 2 Pokemon? What You Need to Know
Pokemon Quest is Game Freak’s new spin-off title in the Pokemon universe that has you controlling cube-shaped pocket monsters and exploring Tumblecube Island. You’ll be completing expeditions, battling other Pokemon, obtaining materials, cooking up recipes, and befriending new Pokemon for your expedition team.
As of the time of writing this guide, there has not been any confirmation or news on any new Pokemon eventually being added to Pokemon Quest. You’re currently only able to catch the first 151 Pokemon from the Kanto region and nothing more. If we hear any news about Gen 2 coming to Pokemon Quest, we will be sure to update this guide accordingly. Since Pokemon Quest just launched this past week on mobile devices, it probably won’t be a while until we hear any news about Gen 2 coming to the free-to-play spin-off title.
Considering how Niantic added generation 2 Pokemon to Pokemon GO a ways after its initial launch, there is a chance that Game Freak would do the same and continue to update Pokemon Quest as it continues to gain momentum on the Switch and on mobile devices.
Nintendo and Game Freak seem to be really pushing the original 151 Pokemon; we’re getting Pokemon Let’s Go Pikachu and Let’s Go Eevee, which takes players back to the Kanto region on the Switch, and Pokemon Quest only has the originals as well. This makes us think that Game Freak wants players to be comfortable and familiar with these Pokemon, in order to maybe not confuse them with the hundreds of other Pokemon that exist out there in the world.
That’s all you need to know about Gen 2 Pokemon coming to Pokemon Quest. If you’re looking for any tips, tricks, or guides on Pokemon Quest, then be sure to search for Twinfinite – we got you covered.
Pokemon Quest is currently available for the Nintendo Switch and for iOS and Android devices.
