Pokemon GO: How to Find & Catch Turtwig

With the release of Pokemon GO’s fifth anniversary collection challenge, players will need to find and catch each of the starter Pokemon currently available in the game so far. That means players will need to get their hands on the leafy turtle, Turtwig. While trying to simply hunt one down will eventually net you one, you may be wondering how to get Turtwig in Pokemon GO fast.

Finding and Catching Turtwig in Pokemon GO

The best way to get Turtwig is to use an Incense and then head to a PokeStop and activate a Lure on it.

Both of these items will increase the number of Pokemon that spawn in the area, and Turtwig in particular has a high chance of spawning when these are active.

If you don’t have any Incense or Lures that you can use to help you catch Turtwig, you’ll instead want to head to grassy spawn locations such as parks, gardens, hiking trails and countryside areas. Why? Well, Turtwig is a grass-type Pokemon, so it makes sense it’d find a home in grassy, leafy areas like these.

Turtwig Evolutions

Once you’ve got a Turtwig, you can evolve it into Grotle by using 25 Candy. You can then evolve your Grotle to Torterra with 100 Candy, but remember you need these Pokemon’s specific candy, so you’ll need to catch more of Turtwigs, or walk with this Pokemon as your best friend.

That’s everything you need to know on how to get Turtwig in Pokemon GO. If you’re looking for more tips and tricks for your AR Pokemon quest to be the best, be sure to check out our wiki, or see more of our coverage on the game below.
