Well, it turns out that saving isn’t that difficult at all, but you can’t do it all the time.

How to Save Your Game in Pikmin 3 Deluxe

The story mode in Pikmin 3 Deluxe is set up into days. Each day is spent collecting fruit, defeating enemies, and encountering new types of Pikmin. Before dusk, you will need to gather all of your Pikmin so you can fly off the planet back into outer space.

To save your game in Pikmin 3, you need to finish a day, and the game will automatically save whether you like it or not.

Unfortunately, there is no way to save your progress during a day in Pikmin 3 Deluxe. The only way to stop playing and come back to the same point is by leaving the application open on your Switch. The minute you close the game, all of your progress since the last save will all be gone.

If you’re playing through a day and have to quit the game for whatever reason, you can always end the day early by clicking on End Day, and that’ll save your progress, but it will waste one of your precious rations.

You can also restart the day on that same menu or revert to an earlier day. Either way, you’ll have to stop your current mission if you want to save your game.
