Getting Pure Ferrite in No Man’s Sky NEXT

Recommended Videos

With the introduction of the NEXT update, Hello Games has provided No Man’s Sky players with a substantial amount of new content to play around with. Aside from the online multiplayer and improved base-building aspects, some of the elements have also been renamed and reclassified in a much more streamlined fashion. If you’re starting a new game, you will eventually get an objective to craft Pure Ferrite. Here’s what you need to know.

First off, you need a portable refiner to get the Pure Ferrite. The game should provide you with a tutorial on how to craft that. Just in case you started an old save, however, you’ll need to use Oxygen and Metal Plating to craft the refiner itself. Once you have your materials, the refiner can be built anywhere on the planetary surface, and you’ll be able to start putting in materials and fueling it to get more refined resources.

To get your Pure Ferrite, you need to put in some regular Ferrite into the input slot. Ferrite can be obtained simply by mining rocks found across the planets. Once you put in the Ferrite, you’ll then need to fuel the refiner itself to actually get things going. This can be done with any fueling material, such as Carbon. And once that’s done, you’ll have your Pure Ferrite. It’s worth noting that some players have reported being unable to input anything into their refiner, though this issue was easily remedied by simply reloading a previous save file or restarting the game.

That’s all you need to know about obtaining Pure Ferrite in No Man’s Sky. For more information on the game and the new NEXT update, be sure to check our wiki.
