How to Get Pyrite in No Man’s Sky NEXT
No Man’s Sky has received a huge amount of post-launch support since its slightly rocky start. Pathfinder, Atlas Rises, and most recently NEXT have all added new story, mechanics, and gameplay modes that have transformed an already decent game into something even better. Despite all the tweaks and changes, though, at its core, No Man’s Sky remains the survival experience that it always has been, tasking players with traversing the cosmos to harvest resources to craft, trade, and build there way across the universe. You’ll spend much of your time foraging for various resources, one of which is Pyrite. Here’s how to get Pyrite in No Man’s Sky.
Pyrite is a shiny mineral that’s found in No Man’s Sky that can be used to forge Pulse Engine fuel. It’s also sometimes used in the Portable Refiner to craft certain refined resources necessary for building and crafting. Don’t confuse Pyrite with Unrefined Pyrite Grease, a trading commodity added in Atlas Rises that is worth a huge amount to vendors. Pyrite is much less fancy. Fun fact: Pyrite is actually what we call Fool’s Gold, a shiny metal that resembles gold but is worth much less.
Typically, you’ll find Pyrite in ordinary rocks that you’d harvest for Ferrite Dust. It will often appear as a secondary resource. There’s no particular planet you’ll need to land on in order to locate Pyrite, but it’s not necessarily easy to come by. Basically, just keep zapping rocks until you find it.
That’s everything you need to know about how to get Pyrite in No Man’s Sky.
