NieR: Automata – Upgrading the Pod

Recommended Videos

Your Pod starts out with a simple Laser program in NieR: Automata. However, as you progress through the game, you can install different types of programs on it, allowing it to do a variety of things, such as scanning for hidden items and even performing even more powerful attacks. If you have the money and resources, you can also upgrade the Pod’s raw power and capabilities.

First off, Pod programs can be bought off the vendor found at the Terminal in the Bunker, or the one at the Resistance Camp. There are also a few programs that can only be obtained through main and side missions. The scanner program, for instance, will be given to you as part of the main story. The rest can only be obtained as rewards from side missions, so be sure to do those when you can.

To upgrade the Pod itself, talk to the vendor at the Terminal or Resistance Camp and select the upgrade option. Do note that there’s more than one Pod in the game, and all of them can be upgraded individually and be installed with various programs too.
