Need for Speed Heat is finally out and it brings cops back to the series and is once again focused on street racing. You can play the game online at all times, so it would be nice to know if you can play with friends on other platforms. Before you try to join up with each other in the city, here’s everything you need to know about whether Need for Speed Heat is cross platform.
You don’t have to play the game online, but if you choose to do so from the main menu, you will see other players roaming the map, often being chased by cops.
You will also be able to challenge some of them by racing against times they set. It’ll be cool to see players from other platforms and the times they have set in events.
Is Need for Speed Heat Cross Platform?
Unfortunately, EA confirmed in a reply to a post on the EA Forums that Need for Speed Heat does not currently have cross platform play.
A player asked, “With all the games nowadays coming out with cross platform I think this game would be super cool and make a much better community with cross platform. Will it be implemented?”
An EA Community Manager, Ataashi, replied, “Thanks for posting your suggestion! I’m afraid at the moment we don’t have any information about possible cross-play in Need for Speed Heat.”
They also said they EA would confirm on their social channels if that ever changes, so be sure to check there.
As cross platform play continues to get more common in high profile games, it’ll become more likely that it will come to the Need for Speed series. For now though, you’ll just have to make do with playing with other people on hour platform.
