HOW TO TAME AND RIDE HORSES IN MINECRAFT

Recommended Videos

Horses are one of the many animals you can tame and ride in Minecraft. Before you head out to find one to tame, you need to make sure that you have a saddle available.

Next, you need to find one of the many horses in Minecraft – they can usually be found in the Plains biome. Every time you attempt to ride a horse, you need to tame it first. To tame it, ensure that you have nothing equipped from your hotbar because you will need to use your character’s hands. As you select the horse to mount it you will repeatedly be bucked off, but keep trying because it will allow you to sit on it a short while longer each time, until it allows you to stay there, which is shown by red hearts around it. To mount animals in Minecraft, right click if you’re on PC, or press the left trigger on whatever console you’re using.

However, once you have tamed it, you will not be able to ride it until you have put the saddle on it. In Minecraft for PC, select it from the inventory (E) or press triangle/Y on PlayStation/Xbox consoles respectively. You can then mount the horse and ride it by right-clicking/pressing the left trigger again. If you then want to dismount, press the shift button on PC or press in the right thumbstick if you’re on console.

That is how you tame and ride a horse in Minecraft. For more on the game, be sure to stick with us at Twinfinite.
