Best Skills for Your Character in Metal Gear Survive

Recommended Videos

Metal Gear Survive is the latest entry in the action-adventure series, bringing in a handful of new mechanics to the franchise. Players will take the role of a Survivor and can embark on different quests while leveling up their character. You can choose from a handful of Classes in Metal Gear Survive, each with their own special skills.

That said, one way to stay alive in the game is by honing these abilities. You’ll start out with a limited pool, but you’ll gain more as you make your way through the game. While there are plenty to choose from, there are a few skills that stand out from the rest. Here are some of the best abilities the game has to offer:

Thrust Combo – The spear will most likely be your very first weapon in Metal Gear Survive, and you’ll have to rely on cordoning off areas with fences and poking at your enemies through them. Because of this, we highly recommend getting the Thrust Combo skill to increase your spear damage.

Dive Attack – This allows you to unleash a drop attack on enemies below you, which can be very helpful in the campaign when you’re trying to take out the Wanderers quietly. It’s also useful if you don’t have a bow to take them out from up top.

CQC Counter – Melee attacks aren’t all that great in Metal Gear Survive, but if you ever find yourself cornered by Wanderers, you can get yourself out of a bind by parrying their swipes. Just look for the prompt onscreen to counter their attacks; the timing is quite lenient.

Quick Hands – This skill came in the most handy while sneaking around Wanderers in the single-player campaign. As the name suggests, this allows you to loot animals and enemies quickly, so you never have to stay in one place for too long.

Leg Sweep – This skill allows you to trip a Wanderer while you’re crouching down. It sounds silly, but it can actually come in pretty handy when you need to make a quick escape, or when you’re trying to delay enemies from attacking your base.

The stat increases are useful as well, of course, and they shouldn’t be ignored. But these five skills should serve you very well early on in the game, so don’t waste any time in getting them.

Make the most out of your arsenal and take down your enemies. For more tips and tricks on Metal Gear Survive, make sure to search for Twinfinite.
