How to Change Ammo Type in Mass Effect Andromeda

Mass Effect Andromeda, like the original trilogy of games, has special ammo types you can acquire and equip throughout your adventure. You can change to a different ammo type depending on your situation, but first you need to know how to change ammo.

To do this, bring up the weapon wheel in-game using the Window button on Xbox One, the touchpad on PS4, and Tab on PC. Here, you’ll see options for choosing different guns, but also various equippable items, like ammo. Select the typeyou want to use, and it’ll be applied to your weapons so long as you have stock.

You can get more special ammo by walking over supply boxes around the world. You’ll notice them by the floating symbols for each ammo type above them.

Keep in mind what each ammo type does. Incendiary is strong against living things, while cryo can be used to slow enemies down. Armor piercing rounds, meanwhile, are helpful for chewing through tough armor.
