HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN PLAY NINTENDO SWITCH

Recommended Videos

The holidays are upon us, which means that it’s time to go shopping for those favorite people in your life. Those favorite people in your life might be gamers, which might be a hard type of person to shop for if you have no knowledge on video game systems. If you’re thinking about purchasing the new Nintendo Switch console, you might be wondering how many people can play on the Switch out of the box.

Here’s how multiplayer works with the Nintendo Switch. Right out of the box, the console comes with one pair of Joy-Cons. The pair of Joy-Cons can be split apart and given to two different players, which means that the Switch can be played by two people right out of the box, assuming that you’re playing a game that supports single Joy-Con play; Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, 1-2 Switch, and Snipperclips come to mind. If you would like to play a game that supports four-player multiplayer, you would need to purchase a second set of Joy-Cons which costs about $50 each or as a package deal for $80. There are also some games like Just Dance that support up to six players and there are some titles that use both the left and right Joy-Cons for multiplayer like ARMS, so make sure that you purchase the necessary controllers for the game that you wish to play.
