How to Recruit Vito as an Underboss in Mafia III

While Mafia III‘s protagonist Lincoln Clay may be trying to escape his criminal life at the start of the game, it doesn’t take long for him to get roped back in. Soon enough, he’s heading up his own crime family to take out the Italian Mafia, and that means you’ll need to recruit a powerful Underboss or two to have your territory covered. And it just so happens you can recruit familiar face Vito Scaletta, too! Here’s what you need to know to recruit Vito as an Underboss in Mafia III.

Vito Scaletta served as the protagonist of Mafia II, and he’s returned as a recruitable underboss in Mafia III. To unlock him as an underboss and his associates in Mafia III, you simply have to progress through the story until you’ve taken over the first district. Donovan will then inform you of two other potential mobsters you can recruit: one is Thomas Burke, and the other is Vito. Picking up Vito’s info file will unlock the main story mission “We Partners Now?”

Simply head over to the mission marker and you’ll find Vito’s hideout, where he’s been tied up in a freezer and being held captive by Grecco’s men. Take out the rival gangsters and free Vito, and you’ll gain access to his associates and the Consigliere, which can come pick up and store your extra cash so you don’t have to do all the footwork. Follow the main mission path from here, and you’ll eventually confront Grecco. Completing this quest line will secure his position as one of your underbosses, and you’ll be able to continue assigning him districts and rackets to earn more money.
