Jedi Fallen Order New Game Plus: What You Need to Know

This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order has finally arrived on PC, PS4, and Xbox One and tells the story of Cal Kestis as he tries to save the Jedi race and put an end to the Empire’s evil plans. Of course, once you’ve finished the game and have watched the credits roll, you’ll likely want to start it all over again, but with all of your Jedi abilities and unlockables in-tact. That’s where Jedi Fallen Order’s new game plus would come in… if it had it.

You see, unfortunately, Star Wars Fallen Order doesn’t have new game plus. Instead, once you’ve beaten the final boss battle and watched the cutscene, the credits will roll and you’ll be taken back to the main menu screen.

Choosing to ‘Continue Journey’ will load your save just before you went to the final location for the last quest. You’ll then be free to explore any of the five other planets you’ve previously visited to find all of the chests and secrets on each one, as well as bump your explored percentage up to 100%.

Will New Game Plus Come to Star Wars Fallen Order?

It doesn’t look like the game will receive any new game plus mode. Talking about the feature in an interview with Game Informer, game director Stig Asmussen said “New Game Plus is hard because it’s a Metroidvania-inspired game, so if you start the game with all your abilities, you kind of break things.”

From our time playing the game, we can definitely see where Asmussen is coming from, and it certainly would ruin the back and forth nature and sense of discovery in the game.

Still, things can change and Asmussen and co. might change their mind on including the mode in the game. If anything does change, we’ll be sure to update this post and let you know.

Does Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order have new game plus?
