Is Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia Coming to Nintendo Switch?
Fire Emblem has quickly become one of Nintendo’s most popular series in recent years, and a new entry is right around the corner. Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia actually isn’t a proper new entry in the series, but rather a remake of the second game, Fire Emblem Gaiden.
Gaiden never made its way to the West, so it’ll be the first time North American audiences can get their hands on the title. There are a few key differences that come into play with Gaiden as well, like fully explorable dungeons and towns as well as preemptive strikes before battle.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia launches on May 19 for Nintendo 3DS, along with a pair of brand new amiibo figures. Many Nintendo fans are probably wondering if they’ll be able to experience Echoes on the company’s newest handheld hybrid, the Switch. Unfortunately, Fire Emblem Echoes is only planned for the 3DS at the moment, with no plans to come to the new system.
The good news, however, is that there’s currently two Fire Emblem titles in development for the Switch. The Koei Tecmo-developed Fire Emblem Warriors is coming later this year, and there’s another unnamed mainline entry in the series coming in 2018. No matter what system you have, you’ll be able to get your Fire Emblem fix.
