How to Sprint & Run Faster in The Quarry

Giddy up counselors!

If you’re playing The Quarry, chances are you’re wondering how to sprint or run faster as you’re exploring Hackett’s Quarry, the forest and its surroundings. By default, the characters walk very slowly, allowing you to take in the sights and sounds of the environment, but it’s a little too slow, especially if you’re trying to track down all those Tarot Cards, bits of evidence and clues.

How to Move Faster in The Quarry

When you’re just walking around exploring the environment, you can press LB on Xbox, L1 on PS4 and PS5 or Up on your keyboard’s direction keys to move faster.

It should be noted that the increase in movement speed is noticeable, but only barely. You’re not going to start sprinting around the environment. At the best, it’s a brisk walk, so be sure to temper your expectations. Even more infuriating is how slowly the different counselors will go up and down stairs. Even pressing LB, L1 or Up doesn’t speed them up, sadly.

At other time, often when danger is close and you’re in a quick-time event, you’ll have to repeatedly press A/ X/ left mouse button to quickly sprint away. If you don’t press the button repeatedly fast enough, you’ll fail the quick time event and suffer the consequences… which probably aren’t going to be good for your counselor.

That’s everything you need to know on how to sprint and run faster in The Quarry. For more tips and tricks, be sure to check out the links below, or read our full The Quarry review.
