How Old Is Brock in Pokemon?

Misty and Brock still remain Ash Ketchum’s longest-running travel partners/friends in Pokémon. Ash met Brock at Pewter City, who also happened to be the city’s Gym Leader at that time and later went on to travel with Misty and Ash leaving his duties after his father returned from his own journey. But how old is Brock in Pokemon?

Since the show never really delved deep into Brock’s past, many are left wondering what the Rock-type gym leader was like. While the Pokémon show did an amazing job in fleshing out the character, we didn’t get to see Brock truly realizing his dreams of becoming a Pokémon Doctor. But at what age did Brock have these aspirations?

How Old Is Brock in Pokemon?

Unlike Ash and Misty, Brock is a fair bit older than his travel buddies. Brock is 15 in Pokemon when he first appeared and carries a fair bit of extra experience than Ash and Misty. His age might also be the reason why he was so drawn to almost every woman he encountered on his travels since he was at that age when you start to pay more attention to potential romantic partners.

Despite Brock leaving Ash at the end of their journey in Johto to help his father at home, Brock returned to join Ash through Hoenn, along with their new friends May and Max, and then again through Kanto.

He left for a short amount of time when Pokémon the Series: Ruby and Sapphire ended to visit his home but quickly rejoined to travel with Ash and Dawn in Sinnoh. Near the end of the Sinnoh saga, Brock started to develop an interest in becoming a Pokémon Doctor, and so, he decided to stay back in Kanto to study, rather than following Ash to Unova.
