What Grounded’s Arachnophobia Mode Does

As you may have guessed, the Arachnophobia mode prevents the sound and sight of the spiders in Grounded from being so fear-inducing.

This isn’t just a mode that you turn on or off, though. It has five different settings that players can use to scale up the effect of the mode to their liking so it doesn’t spoil the experience.

How to Turn on Arachnophobia Mode in Grounded

When you load up Grounded, you’ll get a message that looks something like this.

As it states, the Arachnophobia mode does not affect the gameplay or difficult of the experience you’ll find in Grounded. Spiders won’t look as terrifying, and they even don’t make the same skin-crawling noises that they normally would if you don’t enable the mode.

To turn the mode on, you can either press Y when you see this message, or go to Options and then the Accessibility Options sub-menu.

When you’re here, you’ll find Grounded’s Arachnophobia Safe Mode right at the top.

Simply press A on it and then use left and right on the analog stick or d-pad to move the slider up and down.

The higher the number, the more significant the affects of Grounded. The lower, the less significant. On the scale, 0 means the Arachnophobia Safe mode is disabled, and 5 means it’s in full effect.
