How to Get Smoldering Embers in God of War

Recommended Videos

Throughout God of War, Kratos and Atreus navigate the nine different worlds of Norse mythology. Each has a different theme, and Muspelheim is the world of fire which essentially acts as God of War’s endless Arena mode. Here, you’ll undertake various trials that reward Kratos with various armor sets and upgrades, as well as a resource called Smoldering Embers.

There are six trial arenas in Muspelheim. Each contains two different challenges, one on normal and one on hard difficulty, except the final one which is a Valkyrie fight. Once you’ve completed them the first time, you’ll be able to access one more challenge in each Arena. Each of these trials rewards with a certain number of Embers.

Once you’ve beaten these, you can take on Surtr’s Hidden Trials. Your reward for beating this challenge depends on how high your rating is. Bronze, for example, nets you 20 Smoldering Embers; 30 for Silver, while the gold one gives you 50 alongside other rewards.

To keep earning Smoldering Embers in God of War to get that fancy armor, beat trials on every difficulty and continue retrying the Surtr’s Hidden Trials.

That’s all the information you’ll need about how to get Smoldering Embers in God of War. For more useful information and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki page.
