What the Best Armor Is in God of War

Recommended Videos

As you play though God of War, following Kratos and Atreus’ adventure, you’ll get the chance to unlock and upgrade various pieces of armor. Since many of the enemies in the game are tough, you’ll want to be in the possession of the best armor for the situation; anything that’ll boost your stats and give you a better chance of surviving.

The best armor in God of War is the Mist Armor, which is found in Niflheim. There are three full sets of Mist Armor, each offering different bonuses. They can be bought once you reach level seven, when you can begin upgrading them. Mist Armor is the best because it grants significant boosts to various stats and allows Kratos to regenerate health as he wears more items from the same set.

To be able to travel to Niflheim, you’ll need to find all four pieces of the Niflheim Cipher, which are in purple crates with a mask on the front. You’ll be able to find quite a few during the story mission ‘Return to the Summit’ and the Favour ‘Unlock the Realm of Fog’. Once you’ve done so, you’ll need to get access to Ivalidi’s Workshop in Niflheim, which is done by getting a key from Sindri for 500 Mist Echoes, which can be found in the realm. You’ll then be able to buy and upgrade the Mist Armor sets.
