How to Download God of War

Recommended Videos

The latest PS4 exclusive sees the iconic God of War, Kratos, head to the land of the Norse gods to embark on yet another adventure, this time with his son Atreus. With stunning visuals, fast-paced combat, and a real focus on storytelling, it’s an easy recommendation for any PS4 owners. As such, some players may be wondering what they need to do to download God of War and check it out for themselves. Here’s what you need to know to do exactly that.

If you want to download the game, rather than picking up a physical copy, you’ll need to boot up your PS4 and head to the PlayStation Store. Chances are, if you’re reading this relatively soon after the date of publishing, God of War will be one of the featured games on the store still. If it is, simply select it and press X to reach its store page. If not, scroll down on the left-hand side menu and use the search option to find the game.

Once you’re on the store page, you’ll need to select the option to buy the game. Confirm your payment methods, and once the purchase has been made, you should have the option to download it on your PS4 right away.

If this option doesn’t appear, return to your PS4 home screen, head all the way over to the right to access your Library and go to the Purchased tab on the left side. Once this loads, scroll down the alphabetical list, find God of War, and select the option to download it.

The amount of time God of War takes to download will depend on your internet speed, but it should give you an estimated time remaining for the download to finish if you head to your Notifications from your PS4 home screen.
