How to Use the Drone – Ghost Recon Wildlands

Recommended Videos

One of the most useful tools in your Ghost Recon Wildlands arsenal is the small flying drone you can use to scout enemies. This manually controlled robot allows players to not only get a bird’s eye view of their surrounding area, but also tag enemies patrolling around the perimeter. In order to use this item, all you need to do is hit up on the d-pad, which will cause your character to throw it up into the air and change the player’s perspective to the drone’s. From here, you can use the triggers to control the height of the little scout and use the X (PS4) or A (Xbox One) button to manually mark targets for a Sync Shot.

However, you can also upgrade the drone in Ghost Recon Wildlands like almost every other item. Some of the best perks to pick up for it are night vision, battery length, and the drone’s effective range. These all help it be more effective at scouting cartel outposts, making it easier for you and your team to sneak through a perimeter without ever being noticed. There is no limit to how many drones you can use in Ghost Recon Wildlands, as you only have a short cooldown between uses. Make sure to always activate your drone before moving into a new area as it can easily save your life.
