How to Unlock the Leadership Skill in Fortnite

Recommended Videos

One of the main features that has been promoted for Fortnite is the presence of four different character classes available in the game. While you have the option to switch between all of these character classes after they’ve been unlocked, you may find yourself focusing on one or two specific classes depending on your preferred play style. It doesn’t take long to unlock each of the classes either even if you aren’t one of the players that received all four classes as a pre-order bonus or by spending more on which version of the game you purchased. You will notice, however, that simply receiving the character in a random drop is not enough to actually add that character to your hero squad. When trying to add a new hero you recently discovered to your  hero squad, you might see that you can’t actually select them until you unlock the Leadership Skill.

Quite frankly, you probably already have the Leadership Skill or at least the ability to get it and just haven’t spent enough time upgrading your skill tree in Fortnite.

Use Fortnite’s main menu to access your Skills and you’ll see a skill tree pop up. By leveling up throughout the game you receive points you can use on the skill tree. Just keep leveling up and spending the points here until you reach the Leadership Skill. Once you unlock that skill you’ll be free to bring your newly unlocked hero class into the game and see if their perks are a better fit for the way you want to play the game.

That’s all you need to know to get the Leadership Skill. For more on Fortnite, be sure to check out our wiki.
